The Role
Treaty Oak is seeking an experienced Manager, Project Controls to oversee the project controls function for a portfolio of concurrent renewable energy projects as they progress from late-stage development through construction commencement. This role requires exceptional project management capabilities, attention to detail, and a strong ability to coordinate complex workstreams and stakeholders. The successful candidate will bring a proactive, solution-oriented mindset and a commitment to ensuring delivery excellence across our project portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the project controls lead, ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of schedule, cost, and performance data across multiple projects.
- Partner closely with Development and Preconstruction Project Managers and cross-functional teams to anticipate project needs and align controls processes with broader portfolio objectives.
- Develop and maintain detailed project reports, including schedule updates, budget performance, forecasts, accruals, and financial snapshots, to enable informed decision-making.
- Manage project controls data in enterprise systems, ensuring accurate document management, data consistency, and compliance with internal standards.
- Identify, analyze, and communicate key performance indicators (KPIs) and variances, highlighting risks, drivers, and recommended mitigations.
- Manage and lead project schedules using critical path methods, cost estimation, forecasting, and document control across multiple projects
- Support the development and continuous improvement of project controls tools, dashboards, and trackers that enable clear, reliable, and actionable reporting for senior leadership.
- Demonstrate ownership of assigned projects by proactively identifying potential issues, troubleshooting root causes, and coordinating with relevant stakeholders to implement solutions.
Education and Qualifications
- 8+ years of direct experience in project controls, planning, scheduling, estimating, or cost management for utility-scale renewable energy projects, infrastructure, or related industries.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Accounting, Finance, Project Management, or a related field preferred.
- PMP certification strongly preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, and Teams.
- Experience with Primavera P6, Procore, Salesforce, MS Project or other project management and CRM tools.
- Strong proficiency in project planning, scheduling, risk analysis, progress tracking, and reporting.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to run detailed data analyses and translate findings into clear, actionable insights for senior leaders.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing attention to detail with a focus on big-picture priorities.
- Proven ability to own deliverables, drive accountability, and manage performance expectations within cross-functional teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information in a clear, concise manner.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement, risk management, and collaborative problem-solving.
