The Role
Treaty Oak is seeking an Associate, M&A to support in the evaluation of acquisitions, divestitures and strategic corporate development initiatives. The Associate will coordinate day-to-day management of due diligence processes and assist in the execution of key workstreams across the Company’s existing and prospective pipeline of utility-scale solar and battery storage projects. This position reports directly to the Senior Associate, Finance and M&A.
For this high-growth opportunity with exposure to significant deal flow and access to key decision makers, a successful candidate will have 2 – 3 years of experience in an analytical or transactional role at a top-tier investment bank, private equity firm or independent power producer. The candidate should demonstrate experience in M&A due diligence processes, financial modeling and developing high-quality presentation materials. Experience within the renewable energy, power or utility sectors is preferred, but not required.
Key Responsibilities
- Support in the evaluation and execution of project acquisition and divestiture opportunities, as well as other corporate development initiatives
- Assist in the preparation of presentation materials for senior leadership, including quarterly company confidential information memorandum (CIM) updates, M&A opportunity screening materials, and investment committee presentations
- Coordinate cross-functional due diligence workstreams for potential acquisition and divestiture opportunities
- Support in tracking Treaty Oak’s prospective M&A opportunities and maintaining up-to-date information on the Company’s transaction pipeline
Education and Qualifications
- BS/MS in Finance or quantitative degree
- Highly proficient in MS Excel and PowerPoint
- Minimum 2 years of experience in transactional role (preferably in renewable energy or finance) with demonstrated track record of analytical capabilities
- Highly resourceful and able to work in an entrepreneurial environment
- Comfort working on a cross-functional team in a dynamic, fast-moving, and high-stakes work environment
- Comfort working in a transaction-based environment with tight deadlines dictated by deal flow
- Driven and hard-working individual with a sense of ownership over their own work product
- Ability to work in-person from Treaty Oak’s Austin, Texas headquarters at least four days per week
