The Role
Treaty Oak is seeking a Vice President, Corporate Origination. The role will be responsible for leading corporate origination and outreach efforts for Treaty Oak’s development and operating assets. An ideal candidate for this role will have a clearly demonstrated and verifiable ability to identify, develop, and transact upon corporate relationships. The position reports to the Senior Vice President, Markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead corporate outreach and origination efforts for Treaty Oak’s projects by identifying, developing, and maintaining relationships with potential and current corporate counterparties on both a national and regional basis.
- Provide feedback and aid in the development of offtake products and strategies, working closely with internal resources and current and potential counterparties to support Treaty Oak’s development, M&A, and market development/expansion goals and initiatives.
- Operate as a source of market intelligence, providing the Markets team and other internal stakeholders with information on price levels, demand appetite, and structuring changes, among other data, to inform key strategic efforts and decisions.
- Independently work closely with other stakeholders and teams to proactively identify business needs and develop strategies to address them.
Education and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, including engineering, computer science, finance, or economics.
- Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., business administration, finance, energy economics, electrical engineering) strongly preferred.
- At least 10 years of experience in roles with a direct focus on renewable offtake origination with a demonstrated track record on sourcing and execution with corporate counterparties.
- Additional experience in product structuring, sales and trading, and asset optimization, a plus.
- Direct experience in organized ISO/RTO markets (i.e., ERCOT, MISO, PJM, SPP) a requirement.
- Familiarity with federal, state, and regional laws and regulations governing renewable energy generation, transmission, and siting a plus.
- Extremely strong familiarity with and skills in MS Office suite (specifically Excel and PowerPoint)
- Strong project management and problem-solving skills a must.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Travel at or above 50% a requirement.
